Ingredients

Scale
  • Red Layer: 1 (6 oz / 170 g) package cherry-flavored Jello
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
  • White Cream Layer: 1 (8 oz / 225 g) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream or whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)
  • 1 (4-serving) package unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue Layer: 1 (6 oz / 170 g) package blue raspberry-flavored Jello
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the red Jello layer: Dissolve cherry Jello powder in 1 cup boiling water, stir until dissolved (2-3 minutes), then add 1 cup cold water. Pour into 9×9-inch dish and refrigerate until firm, about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  2. Make the white cream layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over ½ cup cold milk and let bloom for 5 minutes. Warm gently until dissolved, do not boil.
  3. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy (2-3 minutes).
  4. Slowly add remaining ½ cup cold milk, dissolved gelatin mixture, and vanilla extract to cream cheese mixture, beating until incorporated.
  5. Fold in heavy cream or whipped topping gently to keep light and fluffy.
  6. Once red layer is firm, spoon or pour white cream layer over it evenly. Chill until firm, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  7. Prepare blue Jello layer: Dissolve blue raspberry Jello powder in 1 cup boiling water, stir, then add 1 cup cold water. Let cool slightly but do not set.
  8. Carefully pour blue Jello over firm white layer. Chill entire salad for at least 3-4 hours or overnight until fully set.
  9. Serve chilled, slicing into squares with a knife dipped in hot water for clean cuts.

[‘Patience is key: allow each layer to fully set before adding the next to prevent colors from bleeding.’, ‘Cool the blue Jello to room temperature before pouring to avoid melting the white layer.’, ‘Use softened cream cheese for smooth texture; warm slightly if needed.’, ‘Fold whipped cream gently to keep the mixture light and fluffy.’, ‘Dip knife in hot water and wipe dry between cuts for neat slices.’, ‘The salad tastes better after chilling overnight as flavors meld.’, ‘For dairy-free version, substitute cream cheese and whipped topping with coconut-based alternatives.’, ‘Add fresh strawberries or blueberries between layers or on top for extra texture.’, ‘Use sugar-free gelatin and natural sweeteners for a low-sugar option.’]
