A sweet and crunchy twist on classic bacon, featuring thick-cut bacon caramelized with brown sugar and toasted pecans for a delicious praline glaze. Perfect for brunch, gifts, or a special snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1/2 cup (100g) light brown sugar
  • 1 cup (100g) roughly chopped toasted pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a small bowl, toss the chopped pecans with ground cinnamon and vanilla extract. Set aside.
  3. Arrange the bacon slices flat on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer without overlapping.
  4. Generously sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the bacon slices.
  5. Scatter the cinnamon-vanilla pecans evenly on top of the sugar-coated bacon, pressing lightly to stick.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the bacon halfway through (around 15 minutes) using tongs or a fork to ensure even crisping.
  7. Check for doneness: bacon should be deep golden brown and crispy, pecans toasted, and sugar glaze sticky and crackly.
  8. Transfer bacon to a cooling rack or paper towel-lined plate. While warm, sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  9. Let cool completely to allow bacon to crisp further before serving.

Notes

Toast pecans separately in a dry skillet for extra nuttiness if desired. Tent bacon with foil if sugar glaze bubbles too aggressively to prevent burning. Use thick-cut bacon for best texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge up to 4 days and reheat in oven to maintain crispiness.
