Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (250 g) peanut butter (creamy or chunky, natural preferred)
  • 1 ½ cups (135 g) rolled oats (old-fashioned preferred)
  • ½ cup (40 g) protein powder (vanilla or unflavored whey or plant-based)
  • ¼ cup (85 g) honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds (optional but recommended)
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup (45 g) dark chocolate chips or mini M&Ms (optional)

Instructions

  1. Measure all ingredients: peanut butter, rolled oats, protein powder, honey, chia seeds, ground flaxseed, vanilla extract, salt, and optional chocolate chips.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, protein powder, chia seeds, ground flaxseed, salt, and chocolate chips. Stir well to evenly distribute.
  3. Add peanut butter, honey, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Mix thoroughly with a spoon or spatula until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Check the consistency: if too dry, add more honey or a splash of water; if too wet, add extra oats.
  5. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls using your hands or a small cookie scoop. Place on a baking sheet or plate lined with parchment paper. Yield about 20-24 balls.
  6. Chill the balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  7. Enjoy immediately or store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
