A quick and easy summer sangria recipe combining fresh strawberries, crisp rosé wine, citrus, and a splash of sparkling water for a refreshing and crowd-pleasing drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry rosé wine
  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 medium orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup simple syrup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup sparkling water (club soda or lemon-lime soda)
  • A handful fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit: Wash strawberries, orange, and lemon. Hull and slice strawberries into halves or quarters. Thinly slice orange and lemon into rounds.
  2. Mix the base: In a large pitcher, combine sliced strawberries, orange, lemon, and simple syrup. Stir gently to coat the fruit.
  3. Add the rosé: Pour the chilled rosé wine over the fruit and syrup mixture. Stir gently to mix flavors without bruising the berries.
  4. Chill: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to 24 hours) to allow flavors to infuse.
  5. Finish with fizz and mint: Just before serving, add sparkling water and fresh mint leaves. Stir gently to combine without losing fizz.
  6. Serve over ice: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour sangria ensuring each glass has fruit and a mint sprig. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not add sparkling water too early to preserve fizz. Use fresh ripe strawberries for best flavor and color. Frozen strawberries can be used but thaw and drain excess liquid first. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup to taste. Chill rosé well before mixing. Stir gently to avoid bruising fruit and losing bubbles. Prepare ahead by mixing base without sparkling water and mint; add these just before serving.
