Tender, fall-apart chicken thighs in a glossy, sweet-savory honey garlic sauce made with just 4 ingredients in the slow cooker. The perfect set-it-and-forget-it weeknight dinner that’s budget-friendly and family-approved.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 68 thighs)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, rice vinegar, sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Trim excess fat, season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic until combined.
  3. Place chicken thighs in a single layer in the slow cooker. Pour sauce evenly over the top.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours. About 30 minutes before serving, flip thighs with tongs.
  5. Optional: Transfer cooked chicken to a plate. Pour sauce into a saucepan and simmer 3-5 minutes to thicken.
  6. Spoon thickened sauce over chicken. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, or cilantro if desired. Serve over rice, noodles, or with vegetables.

Notes

For best results, use boneless, skinless chicken thighs. Don’t lift the lid during cooking. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (165°F). Double the sauce if you want extra for drizzling. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
