This spooky and delicious Halloween punch is a crowd-pleaser that looks like a magical potion. Made with simple ingredients like lemon-lime soda and frozen juice concentrates, it’s quick to prepare and perfect for any Halloween party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (2-liter) bottle of Lemon-Lime Soda (like Sprite or 7UP)
  • 1 (12-ounce) can of Frozen Limeade Concentrate (thawed)
  • 1 (64-ounce) bottle of White Grape Juice (or Green Apple Juice)
  • 1 (12-ounce) can of Frozen Pineapple Juice Concentrate (thawed)
  • 1 cup of Water (optional, for dilution)
  • 1 cup of Ice Cubes (or a Frozen Hand)
  • Optional Garnishes: Dry Ice (for a bubbling cauldron effect), Gummy Worms or Plastic Spiders, Orange or Black Food Coloring

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Frozen Hand (Optional, but Highly Recommended): The night before, wash a latex glove thoroughly. Fill it with water or white grape juice, tie the end in a knot, and lay it flat on a baking sheet in the freezer. Freeze for at least 8 hours. When you’re ready to serve, just cut the glove off with scissors.
  2. Mix the Juice Base: In your punch bowl or a large pitcher, combine the thawed limeade concentrate and the thawed pineapple juice concentrate. Stir them together until they are fully blended.
  3. Add the Grape Juice: Pour in the entire bottle of white grape juice. Stir gently to combine. The mixture will be a pale, translucent green at this point.
  4. Chill the Base (Crucial Step): For the best results, cover the punch bowl and place the juice base in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours.
  5. Add the Soda Right Before Serving: When you’re ready to serve, take the chilled juice base out of the fridge. Slowly pour in the entire 2-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda. Stir gently with a wooden spoon to combine.
  6. Add the Ice Element: Drop in the frozen hand or a generous amount of ice cubes.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Add your gummy worms, plastic spiders, or any other creepy-crawlies. If using dry ice, use tongs to carefully drop a small piece into the punch bowl. Serve immediately with a ladle.

Notes

The single biggest mistake people make is adding the soda to a warm base. Always chill the juice base for at least an hour before you add the soda. If using dry ice, never put it in a glass bowl and never let anyone ingest it. The punch will lose its fizz overnight; leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and used as a base for popsicles.
