These spooky witch finger breadsticks are made with pre-made pizza dough, garlic butter, and almond fingernails. They are soft, buttery, and perfect for Halloween parties, served with warm marinara dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound store-bought pizza dough (room temperature)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 24 whole almonds (slivered or whole, for fingernails)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, warmed (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, garlic salt, and black pepper. Stir and set aside.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, cut the pizza dough into 12 equal pieces.
  4. Roll each piece of dough between your palms to form a long, thin log about 4-5 inches long, slightly thicker at the top and tapered at the tip. Place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  5. Using the back of a knife or a toothpick, gently press two or three horizontal lines into each breadstick to mimic knuckles.
  6. Press one almond firmly into the tapered tip of each breadstick, pointed end outward.
  7. Beat the egg with a tablespoon of water. Lightly brush the egg wash over each breadstick.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  9. As soon as the breadsticks come out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic butter mixture. Let cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes.
  10. While the breadsticks are baking, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat or in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour into a serving bowl.

Notes

Use room temperature dough for easier shaping. Don’t skip the egg wash for a glossy finish. Brush garlic butter immediately after baking for best flavor. Serve immediately for optimal texture.
